At the beginning of 2023, I conducted a volunteer project with some friends and even some complete strangers. I called this the Longevity Lifestyle Challenge Project, and the purpose of it was two-fold.

One was to give people the opportunity and accountability to make minor improvements in their health. Two, to better understand the benefits and obstacles people face when making even the most minor changes to their usual routine. Why?

In a world where the hustle and bustle of daily life often takes precedence, it’s easy to overlook the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. However, the positive impact of healthy living on our physical and mental well-being cannot be overstated.

One effective way to kickstart and sustain these positive changes is by participating in a healthy lifestyle challenge.

I wanted to give people a sense of how making a small change can lead to more significant changes and make the following change even easier to contemplate. And carry out. So I gave them simple weekly tasks that they would try to complete and then let me know what they thought of them.

While a few people dropped off as time passed, it was a huge success overall. So, I’m doing it again in 2024, but with some changes and different weekly goals.

Participants generally commit to specific actions or goals for a set period, which could range from a week to a month or longer. Our goals were and will continue to be week-long, but you can extend them indefinitely if you like.
